Für die mehr als 7 Stunden gab mir das Hörbuch wenig Wissenswertes. Es ist sehr "amerikanisch": fängt fast von zero an (erklärt z.B. was ein Hauptwort ist, oder warum bei den Verben die Zahl "erste", "zweite", "dritte" heisst), und entschuldigt sich wenn doch ein linguistischer Fachbegriff auftaucht oder etwas komplizierter erscheinen mag.
Sonst basiert der Inhalt auf Sprachgeschichte, und erklärt Fenomäne im modernen Englisch mir ihrer historischen Entwicklung. Manchmal gibt es gute Ideen zur Memorisierung, manchmal interessante Zusammenhänge.
Ich hätte es gerne kompakter gehabt.
