A beautifully narrated account of the horrors of the British private school system.
As a pupil at 3 different public (private) schools in the 1960's and 70's, although as a day girl, Charles Spencer's moving and heartbreaking account brings back floods of awful memories. We girls certainly didn't suffer the severity of the indignities he did, but it was pretty ghastly! Certainly not a time to be remembered as, "the best days of your life". Books in paper form are, generally, my first choice but I highly recommend his beautiful and very moving naratation. I sincerely hope that writing and narrating this book has helped the author in healing some of the deep-seated wounds inflicted on him.

A Haunting Tale
Charles Spencer reads with controlled fury, thus giving this terrible story of his childhood suffering a dramatic and very powerful stage. Highly gripping and impossible not feel sorry for the boys at that school and horror at the unfeelingness of the masters.
