…to a German. You only get to understand your own culture flaws and achievements, when you travel and see how other cultures do it differently. That said, it seems this particular traveler only wants to make fun of the Germans (and Swiss and Italians) and especially their language, while he misses to see his own culture flaws. But then again it’s aimed to an US audience. As German it gives you a good deal to think about your culture and language. Well, not so much the culture, since it’s a period piece, but about my history. Also, he took quite a big deal of Münchhausen into his writing style and invention, mixed with so much truth, that you wonder, could it be true? Was such foolishness happening? I probably have to look up some facts, since the sincerity of all this lies make doubt my education. Hilarious!
