The story was so captivating that I managed to endure the male narrator. You never really get used to him by the end.

Bitte bitte den männlichen Sprecher kein weiteres Hörbuch lesen lassen. Seine abgehackte, schlechte Betonung macht jede Geschichte kaputt. Oft macht er keinen Punkt und Komma und vergisst die Stimme an Satzende zu senken. Ich war mehrfach kurz davor deswegen das Hörbuch abzubrechen.
Die weibliche Sprecherin hingegen ist sehr gut.

Das Buch hat mich tatsächlich überrascht, nachdem ich bei dem ersten Buch zwar zufrieden, aber noch kein komplettet Fan war. Dieses Buch hat diesmal das gemacht, was ich mir schon vom ersten erhofft hatte. Die Story war spannend, dramatisch, mitreißend. Die Charakterentwicklung von Kat war toll und authentisch. Zudem durfte man diverse tolle Charaktere kennen und lieben lernen. Fans der Romanze zwischen Kat und Bastian müssen etwa bis zum letzten Drittel des Buches warten, bis es wieder intensiver und auch etwas spicy wird. Für mich hat es aber definitiv zur Spannung des Buches beigetragen. Ich musste mich schon fast dazu zwingen, schlafen zu gehen und das Buch nicht in einem durchzuhören.
Die Sprecherin macht einen total tollen Job. Den Sprecher hingegen mag ich gar nicht. Er hört sich an wie ein Nachrichtensprecher, er betont komisch und macht wenig Unterschiede bei den Charakteren, die er spricht. Dadurch fand ich es in Konversationen manchmal schwierig, herauszufinden, wer gerade spricht. Das war dann etwas verwirrend.
Ich freue mich schon auf den dritten Band!

Although I personally liked the first book a little better (as I felt that this one had it's lengths and a few repetitive-feeling events), it's still well written with strong protagonists, interesting side characters and a fascinating world overall.

If I could give separate ratings for the speakers, Sarah Sampino would have a solid 5-star rating.
Liam Price, however, is another matter. There is not a lot of variation in his tone, nor does he express different emotions well.
I probably would have enjoyed this book a little more, like the first one, reading this myself or if Sarah Sampino had read everything.
