Über diesen Titel
A Duty . . .
Bound in service to the king within the city, Faythe grapples with morality to keep herself and her friends safe. Nik's loyalty is tested as he struggles against his father's cruel ways. When blood and duty divide the heart, can love conquer all?
An Alliance . . .
While the kingdoms prepare to unite, Faythe is forced to remain hidden in plain sight. But suspicions quickly arise with the mysterious fae general from an ally court. Getting close to Reylan could unravel truths she longed for, but trust is hard to gain and even harder to hold. When lurking evil threatens the alliance that keeps them all safe, Faythe may find herself on the side where danger meets desire in a force that could break past the guard on her heart.
A Choice . . .
The threat of battle isn't the only conflict to fear. Faythe can't forget the deal she struck in the woods to save her friend's life—and it's time to fulfil. Finding the temple ruin leads them to harrowing discoveries within the castle . . . and something more sinister than the war that lingers. It seems everyone will receive more than they bargained for. A history that haunts, truths that destroy, and a tangled destiny they didn't expect.

Great second Book
I really enjoyed this second book in the Series. The story has some interesting story lines an characters. The protagonist is a Bit to angsty for my taste and moans to much about not deserving… well anything in her life. Other than that it‘s great.
The story is defiantely inspired by Throne of Glass, which I don‘t mind. If it continues this way might even end up being the better story.
The narrator is not good though. She speaks like she is about to fall asleep any second. I miss Elisabeth Evans from Book 1 ;)

it's like very bad B TV series, with a cliffhanger on the end of the book
Main character is more annoying. Voice is even less emotional than of a first book. But damn me, I want to know what happens next. I guess I'll have to wait some years to get it to listen for free. Because buying it is ain't worth my hard earned money

Do not buy!
This story is a complete copy of throne of glass. Even the protagonists last name is nearly the same as Aelins. Faythe Ashfyre. Absolutely ridiculous.
Furthermore, the other comments are totally right about Faythes character. She‘s so annoying. Worst book I‘ve listened too in a while

I’ve never hate read a book before
The two starts are only because the plot has so much potential… I’m so sad the execution was low grade torture. This is true of book 1 and 2. I will never know about the rest I’ll never spend money to read more.
This book is proof of how important a copy editor is.
The dialog feels so unnatural I physically cringe.
The use of adjectives is excessive and inaccurate. The word choice and descriptive language could be soooo much better if you put down the thesaurus and picked up a dictionary.
The story’s narrator is so repetitive it takes me out of the story multiple times
The voice narrator is one I have heard before but she is so dramatic with strange intonation it almost feels like AI.
I cannot believe I actually made it to the end I guess that’s proof that the concept is actually interesting even if I want to take a red pen to the copy of every single page of this book.

Not for me
If you've read Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas you can't enjoy this book. There are too many similarities... it feels like copy and paste work. I know, if you read a lot of books of the same genre that this can happen BUT I never experienced it in this capacity.
If you have not read Throne of Glass and find this one first, you could like it ( BUT PICK TOG!)

Sadly, I can't recommend this one.
Every time the main character decided she had yet to keep another secret from her friends, I wanted to throw my phone on the wall. No matter how often they told her not to. The more truths came to the surface, the more angry they (and I ) grew with her. Even the spirit told her that all depends on her and that she should trust her friends. But again and again, she decides she's not worth any friends and her life is not worth any at all and that is her reason for pushing them away and trying ( and failing ) all on her own. I could understand the first times she did it, but when all of them were involved, when all truths were revealed, when she more than once failed alone but succeeded with her friends... I don't get it.
Did the writer try to hold the tension high with this? It is so annoying.
1 forced myself to listen till Chapter 43, when yet another one-man-show deathwish claimed her. I couldn't listen any longer.
On top of that, the narrator unfortunately performed kinda bored. It was hard to grab on feelings for and from the characters. But this could also be the Writers doing.
It's really sad, I liked the first book very much!
