Dripping with American Gothic . . . Utterly convincing and packed with grim atmosphere, it is a story that manages to keep you compulsively turning the pages
It's compulsive reading, sometimes scary, revolting, ultimately heartbreaking . . . There is a hint of the supernatural in it, although the borderline between a haunting and madness here is a hairline fracture, and one that King exploits elegantly all the way to the end

A great story of longing and remorse. Gripping and given a great turn. I do not agree on the narrator's impression of the main character's son, though. As the wailing in his voice was a bit more extended than i think necessary, given the character development. Otherwise a strong and suitable reading.
