When your life flashes before your eyes, what will matter most?

For Wilbur it was his time with Maggie, the love of his life. Their honeymoon in Venice. Before he threw it all away.

Years later, on the brink of his own death, a train arrives. It can take Wilbur back in time. To relive his most important moments. Soon he realises just how much he would have changed…

An adventure through time, The Midnight Train is a story of love and second chances, from the world of The Midnight Library.

Die Idee, die Schreibweise, die Bezüge zu anderer Literatur oder auch Musik haben genau meinen Geschmack getroffen. Es erinnert mich an High fidelity.

I’m not really sure what I expected from Haig‘s latest book after having loved The Midnight Library so much. This one felt a bit forced to me and I found it increasingly difficult to route for Wilbur. But maybe that’s because it hit a little too close to home.
Matt Haig will remain my favourite author, but this will not be my favourite book of his.
James Norton is a brilliant narrator and I hope he does more audiobooks.

One of the most beautiful books I’ve ever heard. So lovely. And heartbreaking at the same time.
The language, the way they talk to each other. It’s rare to read (hear) such beautiful and deep and intense dialogues. I absolutely love it!
I will buy the book also to have this masterpiece of love in my hands.
Thanks Matt Haig!
