A missing atomic bomb. A deadly solar flare. A world in chaos.
It’s time for decisive action, and sometimes ordinary people are our only real hope.
Dave Riker sits alone in his dismal apartment with only his dog for company. He is recovering from a devastating personal tragedy that sends him spiraling downward, forcing him to take medical leave from the Albuquerque, New Mexico police department.
A phone call he receives will change the trajectory of his life.
Ria Nielson, an emergency room nurse, is cleaning out her mother’s house when she stumbles upon a decades-old coverup of a missing atomic bomb. The simple task of opening a dusty cardboard box and sifting through its brittle contents will trigger a cascade of deadly events.
When a solar flare unexpectedly slams the country into horrific turmoil, Ria and Dave must combine their skills to not only survive the civil chaos, but also a deadly threat from shadowy figures that will let nothing stand in the way of their sinister goals.
With Dave’s skills and Ria’s determination to live and to fight, she vows, “I refuse to hide. I refuse to yield.”
And, so the story begins.
