Zugegeben - anfangs hat mich das leichte Lispeln auch gestört. Doch nach einiger Zeit habe ich es kaum noch wahrgenommen. Baker liest kraftvoll und mit wunderbarer Betonung... Obwohl sie ihre Stimme nicht übertrieben verstellt, schafft sie es doch, jeder Figur einen eigenen Charakter zu verleihen. Ich liebe die sanfte Stimme von Ildiko, die harsche Anhuset und die überheblichen Königinnen. Die erotischen Szenen spricht sie liebevoll und mit genügend Feuer, dass einem schon mal anders werden kann... Sie reißt einen in jede Emotion mit! Da habe ich schon andere Hörbücher mit nicht lispelnden Sprechern gehabt (z.B. Written in red von Ann Bishop), die sich anhörten als würden sie nur ins Mikro atmen und die die Stimmen so entsetzlich verstellten, dass es nicht zum Anhören war - echt gruselig! Gabrielle Baker ist hier mein absoluter Favorit! Natürlich liebe ich auch die Buchvorlage, und ich kann mir mittlerweile keine andere Sprecherin für Ildiko mehr vorstellen.

die Geschichte ist leichte unterhaltung, sehr schön erzählt!Genau das was man möchte, wenn man fantasy mag und wieder ne gute Schnulze lesen möchte.erfrischend neu, wenn man genug von den vielen Vampire- und Werwolfromanen hat!die Charaktere sind sympathisch und die Welt ist fantasievoll. Hauptkritikpunkt:die Sprecherin lispelt.

Die Sprecherin lispelt leider stark. Ich würde mir das Hörtbuch nicht mehr kaufen.

Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?

Die Geschichte ist einfach nur toll.
Die Charaktere haben Tiefe, die Gespräche sind witty und die Story an sich zieht den Leser in den Bann.

Die Sprecherin macht das Buch leider kaputt.

I was unsure at first if I would like this story. However, the world building and characters are really quite interesting and enjoyable. There is a strong focus on the romantic developement between the main characters, but that was what I had expected - and it was handled in such a way that you just cannot help but root for the two of them. I don't think that Gabrielle Baker was the best fit for this story, although her voice did grow on me. Her lisp made it hard for me to truly concentrate on what she was saying at first, and the awkwardly long pauses that followed almost every sentence were somewhat distracting. She did however give life to the characters when reading dialouge in a way I had never before experienced in an audio book, which boosted my evaluation of her for this particular book to three stars. I will definitely check out her other works though. All in all - a good listen for a day or two, and I will check out the continuation.
