Long ago, God chose to leave the running of this universe to his younger children as he went about continuing his great work elsewhere. To the surprise of no one, these lesser deities began squabbling over territory and converts. Civilizations broke apart, nations rose and fell, and war and disorder soon began breaking the status quo apart. In this perpetual chaos, some ancient adversaries of God see in their hubris their chance to claim the mantle of supreme being for themselves. Viewing our universe as their introduction, they have labored in the darkness for uncountable years ensuring every piece of their plan was perfect. Yet, even the best laid plan of gods’ can overlook the tiniest of details. Unfortunately for the adversaries, they made one great error. They assumed God would be too busy handling matters somewhere else to care about a single failing universe. They assumed he could not possibly care about a single pin-prick on his great map. More importantly, they did not know he had just returned in secret because his entourage had grown bored watching the building of universe from scratch and had pestered him to return to civilization. It may be just a coincidence the vanguard of the most powerful military in all of creation has returned to our universe. Then again, perhaps not. It could be because God does not abandon those in need, even if we do not understand his particular version of help at the time.©2026 J.T. Dowdy (P)2026 J.T.
