An Aeldari Corsairs Audiobook

Baron Myrin Stormdawn of the Starsplinters Corsairs allies with a craftworld aeldari to deal with rival ork freebooters for plunder and territory. Along the way, he must negotiate a complicated web of connections and the favour of his superiors.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a glimpse into the mysterious life of the aeldari corsairs, who exist somewhere between the structured craftworld aeldari and the unscrupulous drukhari. It's a life of daring adventure and excitement as well as danger and dirty politics. Plus, they're up against everyone's favourite cunning and brutal pirates – ork freebooters.

THE STORY

The Starsplinters are aeldari corsairs, raiders and reavers of the void, and Baron Myrin Stormdawn is one of their greatest leaders. When his running conflict with the Badskab Bukkaneers of Uzgul da Magnificent escalates in unexpected ways, Myrin is forced into an alliance with Taenar Leotharan, an exiled admiral from his former home – the craftworld Ilmaren.

As Taenar is forced to adapt to the unfettered life of the corsair, whose freedom is a double-edged sword, Myrin faces challenges of his own. When a Starsplinters' authority rests on the success of their last voyage and the whims of their feared commander, Princess Tishria, Uzgul da Magnificent's freebooters may not be the deadliest threat…

Turns out that not only does Mike Brooks fabulous understand Orks but also Aeldari to their core.
This type of experience is so rare in this setting and I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone that's a fan of Orks, Aeldari, pirates or romance.

Came for the WAAAGH stayed for the doomed Yaoi

Keeps the grimdark that Warhammer is known for but also adds in the whimsy that franchise started out with. Warhammer as a whole is going through an renaissance era, allowing us to explore more corners of this vast setting.
Hope to see more of this detailed world building and character exploration.

If you like the Aeldar, pirates and orks, this will definitely scratch your back. And even if you dont, it might give you more context for these factions.

Refreshing

It's cheesy space elves pirate adventure romance. And I'm aaaaalll here for it. The only problem that I have with Mike Brooks' books is that there are too few.

A much neglected Warhammer 40.000 subgenre.

I say this after almost every new book from Mike Brooks, but this may be the best book Mike Brooks has ever written. At this point I think it's fair to say he's as good at writing Eldar as he is at writing Orks (if not even better). The plot and characters are excellent throughout, and the ending somehow manages to be immensely satisfying while leaving several character threads so open that I absolutely cannot wait for a sequel to this. I desperately need this to become a series like the Ufthak books have, and I need a Myrin and Taenar miniature as soon as possible.

Mike's done it again

Mike Brooks did it again.
His take on Aeldari is the best to date as shown already in his previous works.
I hope for a sequel.
