It took me at least 4 hours to get used to the voice actor, because every sentence sounds like a question... But apart from that it's a great book, Ann Rule's words and her knowledge of Ted is really amazing (and horrible of course) to listen to!

Lorelei King is definitely not my fave...

What I appreciated most about this book is the way she tells the story. She remains personal, honest, and compassionate without ever glorifying him. Even though he was one of the most notorious serial killers in history, she never makes him seem more important than he deserves. Instead, she focuses on her own experience of knowing him and thoughtfully explores how someone could become capable of such horrific crimes. It's a balanced, insightful, and deeply human account that seeks understanding without excusing or sensationalizing his actions.

The author as a friend!

Die Hörbuchsprecherin hat eine wunderbare Stimme. Die Veränderung der Stimmlage, um junge Frauen oder z.B. ältere Männern zu imitieren ist überflüssig und absurd. Besonders beim Gerichtsprozess in Florida, ca. chapter ~ 46•

Despite many years of time to reflect on bundy, Ann Rule did not take the chance to clearly condemn the behavior of bundy. The men was a psychopathic, manipulative narcissist. She left the impression, that she cared more for bundys well-beeing (in the prison) then for justice for the victims.
I did not finish the book since i was discusted by her gloryfing bundy (and herself for beeing his friend).
