Recensies van critici
"Narrator Anna Bentinck's pace encourages listeners to take a break from contemporary life and enter the world of the Inghams and the Swanns, a slower, if not less complicated, time. Bentinck narrates with a British accent, providing unique voices for the characters that cross paths with the residents of Cavendon Hall." -AudioFile

"[Anna Bentinck's] ability to vocally express in her voice the age of the various family members is outstanding --- everyone from the children to the dowager Aunt Gwendolyn. Bentinck captures the emotions expressed by the various characters as they react to the horrors of war and the realities of the extermination of the Jews. The author’s praise of the stoicism of the British people is boundless as she extols the strength and inspiration of Winston Churchill by including quotes from several of his best known speeches."
