NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The author of The Power of Habit and Supercommunicators and “master of the life hack” (GQ) explores the fascinating science of productivity and offers real-world takeaways to apply your life, whether you’re chasing peak productivity or simply trying to get back on track.

“Duhigg melds cutting-edge science, deep reporting, and wide-ranging stories to give us a fuller, more human way of thinking about how productivity actually happens.”—Susan Cain, author of Quiet

In The Power of Habit, Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Charles Duhigg explained why we do what we do. In Smarter Faster Better, he applies the same relentless curiosity and rich storytelling to how we can improve at the things we do.

At the core of Smarter Faster Better are eight key concepts—from motivation and goal setting to focus and decision making—that explain why some people and companies get so much done. Drawing on the latest findings in neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral economics—as well as the experiences of CEOs, educational reformers, four-star generals, FBI agents, airplane pilots, and Broadway songwriters—this book reveals that the most productive people, companies, and organizations don’t merely act differently. They view the world, and their choices, in profoundly different ways.

Smarter Faster Better is a story-filled exploration of the science of productivity, one that can help us learn to succeed with less stress and struggle—and become smarter, faster, and better at everything we do.

... didn' t match up with my high expectations . I had rather listened to another book

First heard "The Power of Habit" - Then this one

Gute Herleitung und Beispiele. Vielleicht hätte man Manches etwas verkürzen können? Entscheidend ist zum Schluss, dass man die Dinge umsetzt. Appendix fasst alles sehr gut zusammen.

Hält, was es verspricht

Anwendung bekannter Konzepte in neuen Bereichen

the book covers motivation, goal setting, decision making etc. by telling stories of organisations and companies which had great success with certain methods. there are also stories where companies applied methods blindly and failed. the stories are lively and interesting to listen to. and the moral of the actions is given at the right moment. the last chapter gives an example of how to apply a mix of the methods on your own desk. great! now that I found motivation for every method in every chapter, I would like to have a booklet on my desk which summarizes every method. I'll listen to the book again and make this booklet on my own.

great mix of interesting stories and analysis

The book presents several stories from a variety of professional backgrounds and tries to distill some practical lessons for personal use. I found myself more interested in the individual stories than by the conclusions the author drew from them.
For the entertainment value alone, I reckon the book is worth its cost in time and money.

However, compared to Duhiggs masterwork "The Power of Habit" this book fell a little short of what I had hoped for.

Worth the listen
