Frances Butt
She embarked on a painful odyssey towards Europe’s oldest one percenter motorcycle clubs.
Despite her triumphant career as a journalist, a gnawing emptiness festered within her as she ventured into her forties. An issue left unsolved for two excruciating decades. This haunting memory from the early 1990s in Glasgow, Scotland, and the man she never forgot. Time to bid the biker the farewell he never received and confront the shadows of her past.
She had been among bikers all her youth, but life had taken her elsewhere. It was time to return and find redemption. Her Harley-Davidson carried her through the heart of darkness on a long journey north.
This is a quest for emancipation, an unwavering resolve to defy the suffocating constraints stereotypes impose on women, a painful rebellion, a very female version of "easy rider" and her love for a Glasgow Blue Angel.
"Riding Towards Shadows“ - a road movie etched in blood and tears. A woman trying to find her place among rockers and outlaws, a world into which she was not supposed to belong.
This is a story for all those lovers of road movies, motorcycles and the easy rider myth. It is a true story.
