Over deze titel

Born in fire. Tempered in blood.

Epheria is a land divided by war and mistrust. The High Lords of the South squabble and fight, only kept in check by the Dragonguard, traitors of a time long past, who serve the empire of the North.

In the remote villages of Southern Epheria, still reeling from the tragic loss of his brother, Calen Bryer prepares for The Proving - a test of courage and skill that not all survive. But when three strangers arrive in the village of Milltown, with a secret they are willing to die for, Calen’s world is ripped from under him and he is thrust headfirst into a war that has been raging for centuries.

There is no prophecy. His coming was not foretold. He bleeds like any man, and bleed he will.

Includes bonus story The Fall.

I'm only at chapter 5 so I might update the review when I'm done. Still, the story already feels like I'm listening to a different version of Eragon with elements from other fantasy worlds mixed in.

Seems strangely familiar - reminds me of Eragon

I absolutely loved this book and the included novella "The Fall".
Intricate magic system, lore, action and lovable characters. The pacing of the plot was great and enjoyed the writing story. It was very digest able without being confusing.

Absolutely recommend reading the novella because it's even better than the novel.

Amazing start to a great new epic fantasy series. And also phenomenal narration of the audiobook.

Highly recommend! Phenomenal series!

This audiobook is a fantastic read! Ryan Cahill write an epic fantasy story that has everything the heart desires in it! Even dragons 💕 And the speaker manages to let all the characters come to life.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook production and can not recommend listening to it enough!

Me: mom I want Eragon
Mom: no, we have Eragon at home
Eragon at home: ……..

Is this Eragon?

Excellent high fantasy! I would put it between Eragon and Game of Thrones. Also a bit of Robin Hobb but not as depressing. Loved it! Only one point off because the writer uses some modern words like „ok“ often and that took me out of the fantasy a bit.

Amazing
