After crossing a magically radioactive desert and fending off a necromancer, Viv can aspire to some respite from all the horrors and foul-smelling undead. The border city of Kazar promises to be a haven where she can rest, learn how to use her new powers, and understand why she ended up in the fantastic world of Nyil. Arthur the pocket dragon and the genocidal golem Solfis are nice and all but she yearns for some human contact and look, there are plenty of humans around. With their own agenda.

Surely, nothing horrible will come to disturb her peace.

Surely.

The series is an absolute gem and at the very top of what I consider the best. Great VAs, amazing story and characters. I hope the next book isn’t far away.

So good!

I can't predict what will come next. I hope the next book doesn't take so long to add to audible.

Wow so much happening!

Everyone who liked the first will probably like this one too, it has less walking through a hellish desert and more social interactions but that's generally a upgrade in my opinion. what is the only slight detractor for me is pacing, the story sometimes moves exceptionally quick and then slow again which often feels unrelated to events that are happening, but it's really a minor issue.

we got a great setup for a lot of what seems to be important side characters, character development and a good chunk of lore. Plus sophisticated stays my favorite murder hobo robot.

A solid sequal on a great start
