mc is something special. i was addicted to the book, after some getting used to the concept. i recommend strongly.

The story is interesting and the setting has quite some potential. The characters are varied and not too shallow. The main character walks along a dangerous path of being not likeable at all, but slowly comes around. Unfortunately the author is not very good at story telling. For the most part the book consists of very short and simple sentences that are put together by brute force which makes it hard to enjoy the book.

Yes, the MC is an As. However, his development throughout the book makes this unique. Really enjoyed it and I look forward to the next one.

Most people will have a problem with the MC. But only because we expect the MC to be relatable and like most other stories. I think a important information is that the MC is a narcissistic psychopath! The author does a great job by writing like I imagine one to be. There is more focus on the internal egocentric workings of the MC than the story. The offset of the focus is a interesting stylistic device, but it made it a bit hard for me to follow the story. Besides that I thinks it's worth listening to it. The story doesn't give you the typical power fantasy that makes you feel good but makes you second guess and teaches you about different mindsets. While listening I was Psychoanalysing the characters as much as thinking about the magic system. All together I was very Interesting and kinda fun to not get what I expected but I think people should be warned because it can be very frustrating if you are not okay with the MC.

After reading some reviews, I was prepared for what was to come - a story about a young man not beeing a hero and simply giving a sh...

But I must admid that this book has its charm. The charakters are very well disgned and the story is slowly progressing not hyping up the MC in the first three chapter to godhood.

I highly recommend giving it a go and loose yourself in the dark and dry humor, the charakter development and the never disappointing flaws of the MC.
