Over deze titel

This program features a new introduction read by Daniel Goleman and a bonus dialogue between the author and Jon Kabat-Zinn.

It is the tenth anniversary since the first publication of Daniel Goleman's groundbreaking bestseller, Emotional Intelligence which maps the territory where IQ meets EQ, where we apply what we know to how we live. Spending over a year on the New York Times bestseller list, Emotional Intelligence provided the evidence for what many successful people already knew: being smart isn't just a matter of mastering facts; it's a matter of mastering your own emotions and understanding the emotions of the people around you.

Seem like a robot is reading this book which is super annoying. It is very unpleasant to the ear.

Robot read

I don't understand the problem here. I think the speaker does a good job. Professionally spoken, clear pronounciation, maybe a bit on the nasal side, but other than that flawless job.

Also the book is a seminal work on emotional intelligence, laying the foundation for good interpersonal- and true managerial skills.

Good book, good speaker.

I’m a physician with long experience in different fields of medicine including neuroscience. This is a great book, and despite being written a few years ago already, has a universal value and profound knowledge. Medical background is helping, but the author is using both the language and terminology which should be good understandable to everyone.
However, the recording is a total disaster, just a metalic run. Current AI generated readings are much better.
But, don’t get totally irritating and stop listening or start taking benzodiazepines before so you don’t destroy your device from frustration.
Just reduce the speed of playing to 0.8 or 0.85 of the original. This makes a huge difference! One even can recognize intonation and some “human touch” in the voice.
Try it. You will enjoy the book much more.

Great and fascinating book, but reading recording is terrible
