Five friends, one university creative writing course, one weekend away to celebrate. Nobody expected it to end in disaster.

Ten years ago, promising young writer Keith Brooks fell to his death during a weekend getaway with his university friends. The official story? A tragic accident. But when disgraced journalist Phoebe Black stumbles upon conflicting accounts from Keith's surviving friends, she uncovers a web of lies that suggests something far more nefarious happened on that fateful night.

As she delves deeper into the past, Phoebe uncovers a group of once-close friends torn apart by jealousy, lies and ambition. With each revelation, the lines between truth and fiction blur, and the consequences of that night reach far beyond Keith's death. Phoebe must confront her own past and the nature of truth itself as she races against time to catch a killer.

Whose version of events is accurate? And how far will these people go to hide their dark secrets?

I found the story very intriguing and really enjoyed the way it was narrated and read by the different speakers. The book takes a very interesting perspective that I have never came across before, making it exciting and new. Two journalists, Phoebe and Sarah, discover a potential story when they find three manuscripts, in which the authors describe their accounts of the night their friend Keith died. As a listener, you follow the journalists and, through their perspectives, get to know the manuscripts. As the story moves along, even more perspectives come into play, so you really need to listen closely. It becomes increasingly questionable whether Keith’s death really was an accident, as Phoebe and Sarah discover more and more information about his friends and the night he died. Really exciting from start to finish, I absolutely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a complex and twisted story!

New and exciting

A very clever plot and concept of the story, which makes it at times difficult to follow, but if you are patient at the beginning you'll be rewarded with the intelligent piece of literature. Granted, the plot is a little bit predictable, but this is negligible at the background of the satisfaction I felt by having "read" the book.

Brilliant

The story unfolds at perfect pace, with exactly the right details at the right time. Keeping one at the edge throughout.
