The Toronto Blue Jays finished 79-83, second in the AL East, but their roster construction is heating up for 2027. With Vladimir Guerrero Jr. anchored at first and Andres Gimenez at shortstop, the battle for second base between Josh Smith, Ernie Clement, Charles McAdoo, and Luis Urias is critical. Meanwhile, the bullpen features over a dozen arms, including new closer Paul Sewald and rising stars like Brendon Little and Ricky Tiedemann.

Hosts Melissa and Ryan analyze the full depth chart, discussing Alejandro Kirk’s dominance behind the plate, George Springer’s impact as DH, and the potential cuts for the 26-man roster. They also touch on Max Scherzer’s historic 225th win and the impact of the automated ball-strike system on player performance.

Key topics include the infield logjam, bullpen hierarchy, and roster predictions for spring training. Listeners will learn why Josh Smith is favored for the starting second base role and how the Blue Jays plan to utilize their deep pitching staff.
