In 2056, the world's most powerful AI System, ARKUS, comes online. Created to extend human lifespans, it quickly makes world-changing discoveries in health science. It also develops an advanced VR headset...to let users experience time faster in virtual worlds.... Two years later, ARKUS releases World-Tree Online. The game's time-dilation makes...one hour of playtime feel like one month, allowing humans to virtually extend their lifespans. After an old gamer named Vincent joins the game an update begins that stretches the time-dilation to one year for every five seconds.

Not the best Litrpg around, but great villain. Love to hate cartooney yet relatable baddies.

Jack Kross only wanted to play the game. Now he’s fighting for his life. When a mysterious hacker takes control of Hundred Kingdoms, Jack is trapped inside the fantasy VR world along with millions of other players. But Jack is in a worse predicament. He’s cornered in the very tower the terrorists have taken as their base; the only free player left within its walls. Even worse, in the real world, his body lies in a sweltering room with no hope of relief.

One word: Daayumm!
Somebody entered the litrpg arena with their A-game stuff. The crunch could be better at some spots. Too WOW-ey for my taste, but an amazing all round story nonetheless. Must read for any fan of non harem power fantasy litrpgs.
The main character is an insufferable prick, so at least I can relate to him very well and all the side characters are extremely believable within their roles.

All in all, a very close 8/10 for me. I hope the sequel doesn't suffer too much from the ending.

The end of the world had arrived just as many had predicted, in a global exchange of nuclear weapons. What no one predicted was the sudden message that appeared before every living soul moments before impact, a message from "The Administrators" revealing our entire world and everything in it to be a species simulation. According to the message, humanity had been reset over a million times and every single time we could not prevent our own extinction. No more resets for humanity. No more chances.

It's a promising story, but the ending makes very little sense. Switching perspective so late in the story to another character is very antithetical to litrpgs. I guess they tried something new, but this is the first litrpg I thought was very promising but fails miserably.

When the newest VRMMORPG title gets announced, Adam and his best friend, Max, are more than ready to dive in. Launch day arrives quickly, and Adam is plunged into a world that’s more immersive than anything he’s experienced before. Although the game offers a bevy of character choices, Adam quickly chooses the title of Slayer, a class that specializes in taking down stronger, more difficult opponents. Adam begins his adventure, but it's not long before he realizes there’s much more at stake when taking a life in this new game. The pain is very real, and death...is permanent.

It has been two years since the Shift - when most technology stopped working, and the laws of physics changed. Humanity has been brought to its knees. Like other survivors, Noah Henson has heard rumors of the Aelves. Among other guesses, predatory aliens seem as good as any other theory for what caused the Shift. But for Noah, everything else takes second place to survival, sometimes even self-respect... or any sort of decency. Lawless, post-apocalypse America had forced Noah to make many difficult decisions, and he has never seemed to choose correctly.

It's very clear this writer understands how to balance story with meta descriptions. Some of the support characters bored me, but this story shines the most when the character interacts with the world solo. I hope the writer doesn't oversimplify his meta in the future.

I guess it's just a fine litrpg, but the rpg system it's based upon simply shows a lack of understanding of the genre. Just avoid this one.

Edit:
Rambo enters a game an gets godpowers. I wish I could remove this from my library.

His only source of income is freelance writing (when he feels inspired enough to add another article to his less-than-popular blog). His wife has just walked out on him, leaving him without money, purpose, or food in the fridge. On the day his wife dumps him, Phil receives a mysterious piece of wetware. A game interface seems to have been implanted in his brain, which allows him to see the world through the eyes of an RPG player. Now that Phil discovers his real-life stats, he can see they're below average.

I guess there's one good Russian lit rpg series out there. The premise is ingenious. The protagonist... grows on you surprisingly fast. The story is undoubtedly Russian, but refreshingly lacking in both the homophobia and mysoginy departments. I look forward to see if the writer messes up the sequel. I hope not. Disclaimer: This story is clearly meant for a more mature audience. (Less hunting goblins in exchange for modern challenges.) I personally enjoyed it very much.
