When anyone can start a business (when everyone is running their career like a business), it begs a question. This is your one chance at life, you can have anything you want, what is worth doing? Most people don't know why they're doing what they're doing. They imitate others, go with the flow, and follow paths without making their own. They spend decades in pursuit of something that someone convinced them they should want, without realizing that it won't make them happy. Anything You Want is a manifesto about living life, appreciating enough, and doing what matters.

This is one of the few books that I listened to at a non-accelerated pace. I found it very refreshing to find someone opposing the much treaded profit-maximizing wannabe billionaire path. I would summarize this book as find what makes you and your customers happiest and stick with it.

The field of mind-body medicine is plagued by wild claims that mislead patients and instil false hope. But as scientists in a range of fields uncover solid evidence that our minds influence our bodies quite profoundly, there is now great promise, too. Jo Marchant attempts to use scientific research to find out if alternative medicines work; if our thoughts, beliefs and emotions influence our physical health; and if we can train our brains to heal our bodies.

The book is full of science based insights about alternative medicine and the mind-body connection both of which are hard to find in other books. I like the idea of bringing science to the field of alternative medicine. Unfortunately, the book is stretched with unnecessary atmospheric descriptions of places and people. This doesn't add value to the book. Mimicking other people's mother tongue struck me as a bit strange. Therefore only three points for speaker and story.

A Short History of Nearly Everything is Bill Bryson's quest to understand everything that has happened from the Big Bang to the rise of civilization. He takes subjects that normally bore the pants off most of us, like geology, chemistry, and particle physics, and aims to render them comprehensible to people who have never thought they could be interested in science. In the company of some extraordinary scientists, Bill Bryson reveals the world in a way most of us have never seen it before.

This book will inform you and make you laugh out loud at the same time. It is nice to see not only the outcome of scientific endeavors but also their process and the human issues behind them. The last chapter is the most moving and the whole book definitely opened my eyes even more to the wonder and fragility of our planet. Great read! Recommend it to everyone!

Why do some products capture our attention, while others flop? What makes us engage with certain products out of habit? Is there a pattern underlying how technologies hook us? This audiobook introduces listeners to the "Hook Model," a four steps process companies use to build customer habits. Through consecutive hook cycles, successful products reach their ultimate goal of bringing users back repeatedly - without depending on costly advertising or aggressive messaging. Hooked is a guide to building products people can't put down.

Very interesting read. Gives you better understanding of how social media products are designed and why they are so addictive. At times a bit difficult to follow when listening at higher speed, in my opinion due to increased usage of specialized technical terms.

Discover the revolutionary formula that heals the source of illness and disease, even success and relationship issues. According to Stanford, Harvard, Mayo Clinic, the CDC, and other research centers, there is one source of up to 95% of all illness and disease, and it is not your thoughts, emotions, conscious beliefs, actions, or even your DNA. Solomon revealed this source more than 3000 years ago.

Ever watched home shopping tv? This book is very similar in the way the content is presented. To me, this is annoying and it could and should have been shortened by fifty percent. But the content is life changing. Having said that, I can recommend this book to everyone who wants to learn how to become healthy and use the placebo effect at will.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King, Jr.; Steve Jobs; and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why. Their natural ability to start with why enabled them to inspire those around them and to achieve remarkable things.
