Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

  • Absolutely stunning and with the pathos so tangible it verges on being a real epic.

Let me start by saying, that I love greek myths and stories about heroes, but for some reason I always strongly disliked the story of the Troyan War. So going into this audiobook I was quite sceptical if I'd be able to finish the 11 hours of troyan warfare. In the end, the fact that it as a gay love story made ne to curious not to listen t it and let me tell you, it was a wild ride and I regret not one second of it. The story is so incredibly well written that you are basically unable to stop listening. And if it's not the story, then it's the voices. Each and everyone is super well thought out and especially Patrocles and Achilles voice just make me want 11 more hours of story to be read.

Summary:
If you are an absolute nerd concerning greek myths and the like, this would be my top recommendation! And if you're on the hunt for a adventurous gay love story, give it a shot!

While the two increasingly dehydrated and sleep-deprived boys are locking lips, they become a focal point in the lives of other teen boys dealing with languishing long-term relationships, coming out, navigating gender identity, and falling deeper into the digital rabbit hole of gay hookup sites - all while the kissing former couple tries to figure out their own feelings for each other. This follow-up to the best-selling Every Day showcases David's trademark sharp-witted, warm-hearted tales of teenage love.

I expected a lot of this book for various reason and I can only say: I was in no way disappointed. I fell in love with David Levithans voice and story and cried on more than One occasion over how true the told is and how painful it must be to experience it.
I would recommend it to pretty much everyone who is slighty interested in the whole idea of the book.

Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: If he doesn't play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone's business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he's been emailing with, will be compromised.

So this book absolutely blew my mind.
I downloaded the audio book and started listening to it without much expectations. After the first 3 chapters. I never wanted to stop listening to it.
First the story: Such a lovely, incredibly adorable story. It was a great pleasure to look trough the tiny windows Simon opened for us.
The characters are amazing, badass and super adorable and the writing style has a really pleasant touch.
As for the voice actor: Perfect choice! The voice is smooth and really fitting for the main character. As for me, a not native English speaker, there was no problem understanding it at all! And even though it's hard to tell apart who's speaking when at some times you somehow get it, so no problem there.
Overall I think this is a fantastic book and if it caught your interest then I say: Give it shot! You won't regret it.
