A young Norwegian girl taking a gap year in Sydney has been murdered, and Harry has been sent to Australia to assist in any way he can. He's not supposed to get too involved. Good read but disappointing ending

I enjoyed the 1st half of the book more than the second half. The last few chapters seemed rushed and the story line began to be less detailed, especially Harry's feelings when finding his girlfriend.

Geschichte
One wet Friday evening, Professor Andrew Martin of Cambridge University solves the world's greatest mathematical riddle. Then he disappears. When he is found walking naked along the motorway, Professor Martin seems different. Besides the lack of clothes, he now finds normal life pointless. His loving wife and teenage son seem repulsive to him. In fact, he hates everyone on the planet. Everyone, that is, except Newton. And he's a dog.

Fun, critical look at ourselves. An easy read. A little bit thought-provoking. Perhaps we should make more of our short time here on earth and not take ourselves too seriously!

After a few chapters, I couldn't put the book down.
Well thought-out story with quite a twist at the end. The author tackles the topic of wife abuse and really makes one think!
Nicely narrated too.

Geschichte
Marie Laure lives with her father in Paris within walking distance of the Museum of Natural History where he works as the master of the locks (there are thousands of locks in the museum). When she is six, she goes blind, and her father builds her a model of their neighbourhood, every house, every manhole, so she can memorize it with her fingers and navigate the real streets with her feet and cane. When the Germans occupy Paris, father and daughter flee to Saint-Malo on the Brittany coast, where Marie-Laure's agoraphobic great uncle lives in a tall, narrow house by the sea wall.

It brings you right into the war, as though you were there. Very sad though, quite rightly.
