The readings are done tastefully, with calm voices and soothing background music.
BUT the are no Book divisions, so you'll get a lump sum of 10 parts for the entire Old Testament.
If you invest in taking the time to set the bookmarks yourself...it is well worth it.
No chapter divisions but listening to an entire Book at one go is magnificent.

The narrator's voice seemed almost too calm in the beginning, but that was exactly what was needed when the reading came to the visions and dreams..It made me listen all the more carefully to make more sense of it. The music was a little distracting at the start but settled in to a gentle mode further along. Listening to the entire book at one go was possible with these elements in place.

The book of Isaiah is a powerful comfort to those who grapple with larger issues of injustice and corruption.
This version was read in a male and female voice, both calm and confident. The background music is soothing and not at all distracting. Hear the Lord here speaking His truth..promising that no injustice goes unseen. Rest in this. Vengeance is in His Hands.

Hearing Pastor Brian Simmons calmly recount all of what St. Paul had to tell the Corinthian Church was truly inspiring. His Passion translation adds depth to what most are familiar with.

The narration, told in his calm soothing voice, is combined with Pastor Simmon's refreshing take on the Scripture. As a result, hearing the books of James and Hebrews and feeling they were truly exciting was wonderful.

The Passion translation adds depth to one's understanding of God's Word. Pastor Simon's soothing speaking voice then made each Psalm truly come alive with belief in the words. The background music was not distracting either.

Hearing Pastor Simmons speak these Proverbs brought them to life, and his voice is calm and mellow to listen to. The background music complements and doesn't detract. The Passion translation itself makes for an interesting difference to normal translations and adds depth to this Scripture.

Listen to this as one single narration story, and feel it moving your heart deeply. Pastor Simmons voice is soothing to hear and adds to the depth of this Gospel story. His translation might surprise you and cause you to wonder but when you hear, It is finished, my Bride..you'll feel yourself saying, Yes.

If you grew up in a church tradition that dismissed the value of this book for the believer, as I did..then you will find an unexpected treasure in the introduction and song speaking that Pastor Simmons gives...his calm voice and believing heart make this a treasure.

Those who love The Message New Testament could truly enjoy this. BUT! A SERIOUS FLAW....there are only Chapter 1, Chapter 2...as titles...so you can't go to, let's say the book of Romans without guessing which chapter it is!! !
Nonetheless, for those who want an offline audio Message NT...it would work. There are added bonuses..a short intro to each chapter, Mr. Peterson's own introduction to this translation and a reader with a calm, soothing voice. A refreshing version of the Word of God!
