This book was extremely enjoyable. Not only did it teach me a few important lessons but it did it in such a way that I could not wait for the next chapter. Everybody should read this book if for nothing else than to understand that sleep, good sleep is a necessity and not an afterthought. Great info about learning in your sleep too, and how dreams can affect your live for the better.

Witty and often times surprisingly unprofessorial episodes, stories and musings of a truly interested and alert thinking mind that often times amused me, educated me and restored my faith in science for if this is what scientists are like, forget about bank of Sweden prices, this is what a true teacher of life should be be like. Curious throughout his life!

The meditations are as timely and relevant as ever.

Special praise to the narrator. She makes the sentences come alive. Not like the oftentimes wooden over pronounced grave seriousness in other productions. Here it is as actually listening in on Marcus himself. By this style the thoughts come alive which lends much to their timelessness by realising, how current they are and that they were in fact the albeit educated self talk of a well rounded and quite articulate educated human being, and not some sort of textbook wisdom written to educate or impress the ages.

Marcus Aurelius really 'speaks' here.

Often times the same things are repeated over and over. As if the book was assembled from independent comprehensive versions of the same idea presentations.

While that is noticeable, it takes nothing away from the relevance of what is presented.

It is powerful and valid putting the "why" before how and what.

Inspiring up-side, a little blind on the down-side

A truly great text and often times eye opener as to what is already going on in the world that one would deem as sci-fi. But the risk of technologies as gmo, biotec and the argument for their safety by somewhat turning a blind eye on certain aspects regarding the associated safety studies popped into my mind while listening.
Still, it leaves one with a distinct can-do attitude on a global humanitarian scale.
