A mixture of a lifetime story, a story of a personality, of a human, of a mind and his very own way to create, which is following the only path he knows and which is his true one. The story of his creations and the "no coincdences, nothing by chance" around it. No sugar on it, nothing nice-spoken. Very real and hence, very humane and close.
And in all that, aboslutelly breattaking exciting!

Listen to this book and send your nonverbal intelligence soaring. Joe Navarro, a former FBI counterintelligence officer and a recognized expert on nonverbal behavior, explains how to "speed-read" people: decode sentiments and behaviors, avoid hidden pitfalls, and look for deceptive behaviors. You'll also learn how your body language can influence what your boss, family, friends, and strangers think of you.

Ende vom Zitat.
Das ganze Buch würde ich in einem Satz zusammenfassen: wenn man bewusst erkennen will, was Körpersprache aussagt, dann sollte man explizit und systematisch bewusst beobachten. Keine Geheimnisse.
Ich bereue den Kauf. Buch - durchgehend paranoisch, Leser - keine Spur geschieter, dafür depressiv von der schrecklichen Welt mit lauter bösen Monstenr um uns herum, in der wir leben.

Amazon.com started off delivering books through the mail. But its visionary founder, Jeff Bezos, wasn't content with being a bookseller. He wanted Amazon to become the everything store, offering limitless selection and seductive convenience at disruptively low prices. To do so, he developed a corporate culture of relentless ambition and secrecy that's never been cracked. Until now.

The Power of Habbit -MIgräneanfälle vom Sprecher dort:-)). Hier mit einer tiefen, auf mich beruhigend und souverän wirkender Stimme (gut, bin eine Frau), die absolut fantatisch zu der Geschcihte passt.
5 Sterne in allen Kategorien von mir.

In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Perhaps once a decade, a book comes along that transforms people's lives in a very real, measurable way. This is one of them. Crucial Conversations exploded onto the scene 10 years ago and revolutionized the way people communicate when stakes are high, opinions vary, and emotions run strong. Since then, millions of people have learned how to hold effective crucial conversations and have dramatically improved their lives and careers thanks to the methods outlined in this book. Now, the authors have revised their best-selling classic to provide even more ways to help you take the lead in any tough conversation.

Bought the book also motivated by the many (over 700) and excellent ratings on amazon, New York Times and Inc.Many professionals refer to it as an ultimative bible for conversation skills....and then I started listening.

My personal opinion about the reading and reader is as to a pure nightmare for an audio book: too fast, in kinda marketing, "wanna-sell-you-something", overexcited falsetto, very artificial, impossible for listen and relax and concentrate and comprehend.

No adjustment of speed or volume helped:-/

Thus, only 3 starts, since that bad reading of an audio book is the premature death of an (probably amazing) audio book.

Inextricably linked with the fatwa called against its author in the wake of the novel’s publication, The Satanic Verses is, beyond that, a rich showcase for Salman Rushdie’s comic sensibilities, cultural observations, and unparalleled mastery of language. The book begins with two Indians plummeting from the sky after the explosion of their airliner, and proceeds through a series of metamorphoses, dreams and revelations.

The phrases are long and complicated , there is NO chance a person who has never been exposed to Hungarian or even been exposed to it forsome time (I lived there for 2 years, this didn't help a lot) can catch up with this way too long and really sophisticated phrases. I really don't understand what would be the problem to fill all the chapters with vocabulary to build a basis even more Hungarian has a prefix/sufix structure of word building wich is perfectly suitable to build the firs assosiations in the language. Which in the case of Hungarian is simply critical since it is not the language to be related to any other, neither in terms of vocabulary nor in terms of grammer and syntax.

+: the phrases are spoken by a native speaker, well pronounced basic words (unfortunatelly only few)

-: mostly very very long phrases, fast pronounced, therefore almost impossible to understand, not to mention to remember. only few single basic words
