Great story but rushed

History at its best. Follett brings history to life like only a few writers are capable of doing.
Unfortunately this final chapter disappointed me because the events depicted feel rushed to me. Particularly the end is too quick, decades are covered in mere chapters. A shame really, because less time covered in this tome, but told with more details would have made for a much more enjoyable experience.
John Lee does a fantastic job reading it. I am definitely going to get more audiobooks read by him.
The Ring of Solomon
- A Bartimaeus Novel, Book 4
- Autor: Jonathan Stroud
- Sprecher: Simon Jones
- Spieldauer: 12 Std. und 37 Min.
Bartimaeus, everyones favorite (wise-cracking) djinni, is back in book four of this best-selling series. As alluded to in the footnotes throughout the series, Bartimaeus has served hundreds of magicians during his 5,010 year career. Now, for the first time, fans will go back in time with the djinni, to Jerusalem and the court of King Solomon in 950s BC. Only in this adventure, it seems the great Bartimaeus has finally met his match.

Excellent follow up on the Bartimaeus Trilogy

It is rare that I find intereset in a prequel to a series of books, but as Simon Jones had done such a wonderful job reading the the first three books, I was intrigued to say the least, and have not regretted my decision for this book. Witty, funny and intelligently written by Jonathan Stroud, the excellent performance of Simon Jones adds just that extra bit that made me give a 5-star rating for this production. I can only recommend it wholeheartedly. You are in for a rolercoaster of fun-packed fast paced fantasy, mixed with a good dose of british humor that makes a total recipy for success. I can't wait for the next episode!
