I will get the rest of the ring world books, probably in paper.

Welcher Moment von The Ringworld Engineers ist Ihnen besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben?

The metamorphosis of the previously human woman who stayed on the ringworld in the first book.

Was genau mochten Sie an der Sprecherleistung? Was hat Ihnen nicht gefallen?

I couldn't stay focused while listening to this reader. I liked the way he read and the impersonation too. But I listen to all my audio books in a car and some of them just seem to not fit. I think the book would be awesome listened to while sitting on a nice leather armchair.

Others have written science fiction on the theme of immortality, but in The Boat of a Million Years, Poul Anderson made it his own. Early in human history, certain individuals were born who live on—unaging, undying—through the centuries and millennia. This story follows them over two thousand years, up to our time and beyond—to the promise of utopia, and to the challenge of the stars.

Rewrite is needed

Was hat Sie am meisten an Poul Andersons Geschichte enttäuscht?

It's basically a historical novel. The history goes on and on and on, hammering the same pattern for several different persons. This is not science fiction. It's a historical novel and a character description of those person.

Boredom and disappointment

I enjoyed several of Paul Anderson's books, that's why I got this one. But, while the idea has great promise, the execution is boring.

Welchen drei Worte würden für Sie Persuader treffend charakterisieren?

Shock, brutality, perversion

The portraying of the body builder impresses enormously.

I think this book is best listened to in parts and not all of it at once. You need to take your time to enjoy it. The conveyed images are exquisite.

Don't overthink the plot. The intrigue is doing a good job of preparing but you wouldn't expect people to behave so suavely these days, especially if they're professional bad guys.

In Lee Child’s astonishing new thriller, Reacher’s arrival will change everything.

I was introduced to Jack Reacher by the movie with the same name. And it was obviously based on this book. I love his character - no nonsense guy roaming freely across the USA, with superhero physical features and smart too.
I enjoyed mostly in this book the fast paced action, it was somewhat faster that in the other books.

Welcher Moment von Jack Reacher: One Shot ist Ihnen besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben?

I guess when the lawyer was dancing naked trying to distract the sniper.

I listened to all the previous books *eight or nine, and this is a bit weaker than the rest. Not only the content but also the reader was trying too hard when talking for women.

Roger Torraway watched in horror as the monster lurched, toppled over and died. Project Man Plus had gone suddenly and drastically wrong. The race to colonize Mars was too important, too costly, and America was already too committed, for plans to be scrapped. They would have to make a new Martian. And Roger Torraway was it, candidate for the endless surgery, operation after painful operation, that would enable him to survive on that faraway planet.

Expectations met, narrator sounded a bit too old and wise but that somehow put me in the 1930s ... Maybe that was intended
