Schade!

Much food for thought

A great way to present Philosophie. Even if one does not agree with everything, it gives one so much to think about!

A lot of information for anyone interested in the US Supreme Court and Justice Ginsburg. However, for me the jubilation was a bit much. Ginsburg is a great person and a hero to me and others, but if depicted without any flaw or weakness, her story is less interesting than it could be. After all, she is a human being, not a saint.

Good book with great tips. The best part of it is how the author presents everything. it feels like you made a friend who helps you with productivity. The friend freely admits when he made a mistake and shows that productivity is more than mindless activity. It’s mindfulness.

Read this book, enjoy it and think about it. A wonderful read which shows that for now the danger lies not in almighty machines but in humans overestimating them.

Good ideas but a bit diasapointing

Having gone to a Waldorf School myself before becoming a University Professor, I can relate to many of the author‘s problems with today‘s education system. However, I would have liked to see more concrete ideas, and more in depths discussion of alternative ways of education. Do they work better? Are children and students more engaged there? Do they learn more? If she wants to change the whole society, what would she like better? And how to do it? I liked her approach to teaching but it all remained too subjective for my taste. Too much personal experience and not enough data. And the speaker did not help either. It sounded all a bit whiney.

Ein wichtiges Buch, um Amerika und die weißen Trump-Wähler zu verstehen. Eine abgewogene, sehr persönliche Analyse, die an die Gesellschaft und die individuelle Verantwortung gleichermaßen appelliert.

A very good way to learn about Russian Literature

This is a very nice course. It gives a great introduction into classic Russian literature. In the course, many important works of literature are summarized and the Professor gives not only the English translation but also the Russian original to provide an insight into the rhythm and melody of Russian poetry. This is enjoyable and the enthusiasm of the Professor is very authentic. Sometimes I find the language a bit repetitive, but this also gives it the feel of a real lecture where the professor just talks to his students. I would have liked to learn more about the more contemporary literary scene in Russia but I suppose a course called "classics" cannot be expected to provide an insight into recent developments.

What a fantastic course!

If one is interested in understanding India, China, Japan, and Korea from within, this is the course to start as well as to deepen one's knowledge. It offers a rich, almost overwhelming amount of information in an approachable way. It explains the development of Hinduism, Buddhim, Islam, Confucianism, the Korean alphabet, Japanese Zen-Buddhism and nationalism, Maoism and the historic as well as the philosophic and political developments influencing all of them. The lecture concludes with a summary and an explanation of how all of this influences modern Asia from the role of the cast system in today's India to the importance of Chinese business cards. I will definitely come back to this course!
