Craig Shirley's Last Act is the important final chapter in the life of Reagan that no one has thus far covered. It's the kind of audiobook that widens our understanding of American history and of the presidency and the men who occupied it. To tell Reagan's story, Craig has secured the complete, exclusive, and enthusiastic support of the Reagan Foundation and Library and spent considerable time there reviewing sealed files and confidential information.

Coming from a long family of Reagan admirers, I was riveted and very moved by this book, and appreciate having an author state the accurate facts about the Reagan legacy. Obviously Trump was not the first to invent fake news. Critically I found the narrative to be a little disjointed and often a conglomeration of headlines gleaned from newspaper archives. That is a criticism of the narrative style but not of the content.
If you've ever experienced Europe before and after the Cold War you'll better understand and immensely appreciate and respect the freedom people nowadays take for granted.
That Reagan achieve this with his policies in a bloodless revolution should not cease to continue to amaze the world. Unfortunately, many detractors do not want to except this truth.
The book is very moving and an important contribution to history.
I highly recommend it and will certainly listen to this audio book several times again.

Ayn Rand (1905-1982) was a Russian-American novelist, philosopher, and screenwriter. She is best known for her two influential novels, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, and for developing a philosophical system she called objectivism. In this public lecture, Rand criticizes altruism and mysticism as incompatible with business.

This was the first time I heard Ayn Rand speak.

I was surprised by her accent and the quality of the recording was not that great, but nevertheless for me it was a transcendental experience to put a human voice to an iconic figure who has influenced literature and business to such a great extent and been one of my idols since teenagerhood.
This Audible book is just amazing for anybody who admires this great authoress and unique thinker. Her voice made me think of Albert Einstein, who also had a very thick accent, but still imparted brilliance with every word uttered.
