Koren Bladewell now knows he is a wizard, but he is lost in the wilderness, cut off from help, and unable to use his powers. The enemy is poised at the border with an overwhelming invasion force, and it will take wizards, soldiers and a young, untested princess to hold off defeat long enough for Koren to be trained and grow into his power. But he might not wish to help those who deceived him and destroyed his life.

The book decieves not only it's characters but also the reader. Or at least gives it a good shot.

There are a few edges that could have been smoothed but the story stays quickly paced. Despite a few layers of deception the story stays very understandable.

At long last, an extraterrestrial civilization reached out and made the First Contact. However, no one on Earth took their communique for the genuine article. In a similar vein, very few people appreciated just how little time our new suzerains had promised to keep our planet safe. Regardless, the end of their message showed humankind how to access a mysterious game. The objective of this game is unclear. No one can say where its servers are located, and its inner workings are beyond comprehension.

I honestly more time than it deserved. I quite enjoy modern day/sci fi LitRPGs like Galactogon on the Gam3. However this book is a bland as it gets. The narrator is barely passable, the story boring and predicable, the writing boring. Narrated character sheets are abundant and interesting ideas rare to non existent.

Unexpectedly pulled from battle, Jonathan finds he cannot recall the final moments of his last confrontation. Convinced that his memory loss was no accident, he must uncover the truth.

I won't go into details about the story as it's a sequel.
This book is what I wish every sequel would be. The usual "mid trilogy lul" doesn't happen and the pacing stays strong. There is continual character development and the addition of a new member of the main cast does a lot to help that along.

The narration and editing is solid, nothing to complain about but also nothing that goes above and beyond.

For those who reside in the outer regions of Aleria, the day of bestowal is what determines their destiny. It is the holy day of the Goddess. The day that allows those of age to step forward and receive their blessing, to embark on the path that she has chosen for them. To receive their Classification, which dictates their strength and ability. For those people, the holy day of bestowal represents fate itself. For Dante, it represents salvation.

I expected another LitRPG instead I got a fantasy novel with some litRPG elements.
While the protagonist suffers from the classical overpowered abilities syndrome the downsides to that are actually explored.

It's a fun listen, Jeff Hays pefroms great and a few subtle audio effects clearly distinct thoughts from description and dialogue.

There is a risk of this becoming somewhat drawn out with how large the world and scope of the story seem but so far that has not been the case. The pacing was a bit on the slow side and a few details seem to have gone missing along the way.
However I'm excited for more.

In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

The story is fast paced and managed to keep me engaged the whoöe way through. The plot is, well there. A lot of questions go unanswered the villains don't have much of a character or motivation besides being there. But strong supporting characters make up for that.
There are quite a number of "status windows" that translate horribly to audio after hearing twice i just skipped them.

The stunning debut fantasy novel from author Peter V. Brett. The Painted Man, book one of the Demon Cycle, is a captivating and thrilling fantasy adventure, pulling the reader into a world of demons, darkness and heroes. Voted one of the top ten fantasy novels of 2008 by amazon.co.uk. For months now audible has been recommending this series and I finally decided to try it out. I do not regret it in the least. I would put the demon cycle to a simmilar level of greatness as brandersons stormlight chronicles, high praise from me.
The story takes place over years and we see the charaters grow and struggle, until they start to take on their roles of heroes at the end.

Oathbringer is at it's core a story about broken people in a broken world. The protector torn apart by wanting to protect all sides in a war, the tyrant trying to unite instead of conquer, the addict struggling to overcome himself. Flawed people always trying to take the next step.
As always beautifully narrated by Kate Reading and Michael Kramer Oathbringer is a masterpiece in a great series.

My name is Alice Long, and I've always known I was different. When I was little I used to climb up to the highest branches of the housetree at night, and watch the starships docking at the orbital stations high above. Forty meters off the ground, watching ships 30,000 kilometers overhead, with senses that could pick out radar pings and comm chatter as easily as the ships themselves. It all seemed perfectly natural at the time.

At the end of Shadow of the Giant, Bean flees to the stars with three of his children--the three who share the engineered genes that gave him both hyper-intelligence and a short, cruel physical life. The time dilation granted by the speed of their travel gives Earth’s scientists generations to seek a cure, to no avail. In time, they are forgotten - a fading ansible signal speaking of events lost to Earth’s history. But the Delphikis are about to make a discovery that will let them save themselves, and perhaps all of humanity in days to come.

First off, the production is, as always good.

Second, the plot dosen't fit into the universe. On its own shadows in flight would be a decent book, but if you look at the ender series many actions don't make a lot of sense, maybe orison card forgot what happend in his other books or he simply ignored it in order to tell the story he wanted to.
Either way the actions at the end don't make much sense either in my eyes.
(spoilers) The children, who over the whole book were apalled by the thought of having to populate an entire planet by letting their childern interbreed decide that now, that they cured their growth they don't want to return to human space because they were too smart? really that is the excuse?
