Worthy Follow-up

While the second book in the locked tomb series continues almost directly after the first, it does throw a few narrative curveballs which might make getting back into the story somewhat difficult. Additionally, the bit overlong third act explains some things but raises a whole lot more questions. The performance of the narrator is still superb.

Engaging old-school sci-fi

Fun to listen through, without any dull moments or noticeable dips in the engagement curve. The narration is fantastic, especially given the difficult task of having to simulate 'Text to Speech' for half the book without it getting annoying. Using Oliver Thorn as the voice of male online pseudo-intellectuals is both hilarious and a good performance.

I wanted to hear Brian Blessed play a barbarian

I know nothing about the Warhammer Universe and I went into this completely blind. Why? Because the idea of Brian Blessed playing a dwarf barbarian is perfect to me. As such, I really got what I wanted - if you are looking for fun fantasy one-liners, good production value and Brian Blessed interacting with a fun group of party members while occasionally screaming a battlecry, this is certainly for you. As for the story: I can't really tell. It is at the same time too simple (Go to place, fight the thing) and too complicated (I have no idea where we are and who these characters are). So if you want to understand the entire story, I cannot recommend just diving in line I did.

I went into the story knowing nothing at all. It's quite the page turner and keeps your attention while it lasts. The central mystery has a tad too many unnecessary twists for my taste and is a bit too extreme to be believable. However, if you are looking for a fun diversion this isn't a bad pick at all.

Great story fantastically told

Loved the story and the emotionally resonant brilliant narration. Might be a bit too heavy for just a diversion, but getting it is totally worth it.

Die Geschichte macht mehr oder weniger da weiter wo die letzte aufgehört hat. Es ist immer noch eine ok 80er Jahre Horrorgeschichte - aber die tollen Schauspieler und das gute Sounddesign machen es wert weiterzuhören

Although the story follows familiar beats, it manages to put a fresh spin on classic Sci-Fi tropes such as alien invasions and mind reading.
Fantastic performance by the narrator as well!

The book provides a good, quick and interesting overview of the big data economy and its risks.

If you are looking for a short, feel-good little sci-fi story, this will definitely do the trick. It is entertaining while it lasts, but ends a bit abruptly and probably won't occupy your memory for long.
