I have to say it took me at least 4 chapters to get into the story.
Maybe because I haven't listened to the original series? So the first third of the book was boring. After that the story was funny and entertaining.
The narrator was okay. But I didn't like the way he read Gavin. I think he tried too hard to sound like a Scottish Highlander puffing his chest. (All the time. Even when he should have sounded seductive)
Than there was this thing with French names. Every time he said Aimelee! I wanted to scream. I don't have the printed version of the book, so I don't know how the name was written, but I guess it was Amélie. How could he pronounce it so wrong?
So, no, he would not be my first choice for the other parts of the series.

Sooo sweet!

I loved this book.
It's sweet, funny, romantic and the main characters are super nice.
In my opinion it's also very well written.
The only micro disappointment I have is that the end was very abrupt and almost vague compared to the rest of the book.

The narrators made a very good job. Especially Teddy Hamilton. I love his voice. It's a pity that he reads romance only.

Although it's "just " a simple romance, it's so nicely written that it deserves 4,5 stars.

The narrator did a very good job.

5 sparkly stars.

It's kind of a quite book. No action (or almost none), no steamy romance. And still, it's very intense.
The characters are beautifully sculptured and although the story is not fast paced, it's still a page turner.

Rob Shapiro is the narrator and he has done a great, great job.
I love his voice, but in this case it's more than that. He reads very sensitive without being sappy. I also like that he reads the female character without changing his voice to an unnatural whining.

As I said, 5 sparkly stars.

Great book!

What wonderful storytelling!
The characters are lovely. The story is full of surprises. Adventure, fantasy and romance. In this case a great combination.

Emma Powell did a very good job.

This book was much better than the first one of this series.
It's like Mrs Harmon's writing skills grew with every page of this one.
A very nice ending as well

The narrator was perfect.

3,5 Stars
It's a pleasant read. Nice romance with mystic elements. Two things I usually love.

I can't put my finger on it why I didn't enjoyed this book more.
Everything was a little bit forced and superficial. The romance, Chad's "friendship " the aunt......
It was, as if this was just a raw version of the book.
And it has a kind of cliffhanger

A great Story.

Usually I don't read memoirs, but I'm really happy I made an exception with this one.

Westover's story is absolutely fascinating. Her style of writing is easy to read and captivating.

4 of 5 stars because:
* There is something missing at the end of the book. Some kind of conclusion. Or a quintessence of her story so far.
* I understand that she knows her parents love her. How can she know that? There is nothing mentioned in the book which actions of her parents made her believe that she is loved.
* In my opinion she is still much too accepting of her brother's violence. Yes, he is mentally ill. But as far as we readers know, Shawn is still terrorizing his family. How can she be okay with that?

Nonetheless it's a great book. And I would read it again.

The narrator made a real good job.
