By combing through the journals that Hannah has kept for much of her life, this collection of narrative essays delivers a fuller picture of her life, her experiences, and the things she's figured out about family, faith, love, sexuality, self-worth, friendship, and fame. Revealing what makes Hannah tick, this sometimes cringeworthy, poignant collection of stories is sure to deliver plenty of Hannah's wit and wisdom - and hopefully encourage you to try your hand at her patented brand of reckless optimism.

I've been following Hannah's YouTube channel for years, and have always admired her positive attitude & open minded views, as well as her role in the LGBTQ+ community. I'm impressed by how much she dares to share in Buffering, hoping to help others through her experiences while, at the same time, making them laugh.

This book is extremely personal and relevant, and it gives off the feeling of being something Hannah needed to say, to share, and not just a collection of funny anecdotes from an internet celebrity put together to bring in some cash, which I cannot appreciate enough. I'm often weary of reading/listening to memoirs of this kind, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out there's a lot of substance and heart in here, mixed in with some jokes here and there, and not the other way around.

For someone new to the subject it offers a lot of helpful and interesting information. Duigg presents an assortment of cases with which he makes a case for the power of habit, and even offers advice as to how can the reader break detrimental habits. However, it becomes repetitive at times and it feels like the author didn't trust the reader to make some conclusions on their own, or to even remember what was said/written a few minutes/pages ago.

The sci-fi saga that began with the breakout best seller Illuminae continues onboard the Jump Station Heimdall, where two new characters will confront the next wave of the BeiTech assault. Hanna is the station captain's pampered daughter, Nik the reluctant member of a notorious crime family. But while the pair are struggling with the realities of life aboard the galaxy's most boring space station, little do they know that Kady Grant and the Hypatia are headed right toward Heimdall, carrying news of the Kerenza invasion.

I read Gemina as soon as it came out and now listened to it before starting with the third and final book in the series, Obsidio. This was every bit as amazing as the first time.

Audie Award, Multi-Voiced Performance, 2016. The year is 2575, and two rival mega-corporations are at war over a planet that's little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra - who are barely even talking to each other - are forced to fight their way onto one of the evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.

I read the physical book last year and loved the format and the story. I kept hearing great things about the audio and decided to listen to it before continuing with Gemina, the second book in this series.
I'm not much of an audio book person, but this one blew me away.

Audie Award, Humor, 2016. In Furiously Happy, number-one New York Times best-selling author Jenny Lawson explores her lifelong battle with mental illness. A hysterical, ridiculous book about crippling depression and anxiety? That sounds like a terrible idea. But terrible ideas are what Jenny does best.

I was expecting more of an insight in the mental illness world. On that front, it left me rather disappointed.

It was fun to listen to (and I'd definitely recommend listening to the audiobook rather than reading it) but some chapters felt flat, there was no bigger motivation behind them.
