À propos de ce titre

New York Times bestselling author Meghan March returns to the world of the cult-favorite and unforgettable anti-hero, Lachlan Mount.

My daughter was kidnapped.
My sanctuary violated.
My best friend murdered.
My empire is crumbling before my very eyes.
There’s no retirement plan for the boogeyman.
I never cared about that before.
Now that I have a family, everything is different.
I can never put my daughter at risk again.
I don’t want this life for her.
But I can’t undo the things that I’ve done.
I can’t bring back the lives I’ve taken.
Everyone knows Lachlan Mount doesn’t deserve a second chance.
But maybe—just maybe—a man like me can still find redemption.

Let me start with this: I‘ve read all her books and loved most. This isn‘t one of them. The story - well, there hardly is any story. Not that I wouldn‘t appreciate hearing about Mount‘s feelings, but not for seven hours and on repeat. It feels like every sentence in this book has been written thrice and I was bored out of my mind.

The usual depth of the characters is missing and it really disappoints me that Kira, the strong independent woman we got to know, just gives it all up for „love“ without looking back.

Also, the voices of the narrators are pretty awful. That fake whiny Italian accent was driving me up the wall.

Surely not every book can be great, but this one I certainly cannot recommend.
