À propos de ce titre

Promise Me Forever is a stand-alone billionaire office romance.

How can you promise someone forever? The simple truth is that you can’t.

At least that’s what I always thought. Until I met Amelia Ryder. It was a chance encounter. We were meant to go our separate ways and never see each other again.

So you can imagine my surprise when the woman I haven’t been able to stop thinking about turns up at my office two days after I sent her home—as my new secretary. And things are about to get a lot more complicated than either of us expected.

She’s occupying my every waking thought. If I’m not thinking about her smile or her scent, or the very unprofessional things I'd like to do to her on my desk, I’m definitely picturing her delicious curves—the ones I know in intimate detail.

But I’m Drake James, cold-hearted workaholic. I don’t do relationships, I don’t do commitment, and I definitely don’t do my secretary.

So why can’t my mind and body get with the program? Because staying away from the woman is pure torture. And as unfair as it is for her, I’m not prepared to give up whatever this thing is between us, no matter how toxic it gets.

Amelia Ryder is mine, and just because I can’t have her doesn’t mean I won’t.

the voice of the woman.... is hard to listen. she sounds like she is drunk, in a barrel, drugged and mentally challenged.... who would hire a secretary that speaks like that, couldn't really feel the story because of it...

one of the least exciting og kincaid

This is the second book in the James Brothers series—I read the first one last summer.
This time, the story focuses on Drake: the hot, billionaire lawyer who’s allergic to relationships and has a shibari kink. He’s a charming, layered character, and the bond between the brothers remains one of my favorite parts of the series.

Amelia, the FMC, was absolutely adorable and refreshingly different. She wasn’t overly confident and seemed a bit oblivious to how attractive men might find her, which made her so relatable. She’s kindhearted, caring, and always positive—definitely not rich or fancy, and that grounded her character nicely.

The story itself was okay for me. I didn’t fully understand Drake’s actions toward the end, and while there was an unexpected suspenseful twist, the book could have been trimmed down a little.

The narration, though, was excellent—Sean Masters and Savannah Peachwood brought the characters to life beautifully. The spice level? Definitely enjoyable.
