À propos de ce titre

Lady Eve's got the perfect plan. Pretty, petite Evie Windham has been more indiscreet than her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Moreland, suspect. Fearing that a wedding night would reveal her past, she's running out of excuses to dodge adoring swains. Lucas Denning, the newly titled Marquis of Deene, has reason of his own for avoiding marriage. So Evie and Deene strike a deal, each agreeing to be the other's decoy. At this rate, matrimony could be avoided indefinitely...until the two are caught in a steamy kiss that no one was supposed to see. Contains mature themes.

This story about the youngest daughter of the Windham family kept me entranced from beginning to end. Eve has a truly awful experience involving a man and a horse that affects her life for years. (The awful experience is not described in detail, one gathers through allusions what happened.) Eve knows a lot about horses and racing from her cavalryman father and brothers. This creates a thread through the story that becomes more and more detailed and fascinating. The author obviously did her research very thoroughly! How Eve and her husband finally find their happiness with the horses they love is heartwarming and quite riveting. The narrator is terrific, he really brings the characters alive. It’s a keeper, this one!

I learned a lot about horses

Langatmig
