I absolutely loved In Fury Born, especially Alicia DeVries, a strong, intelligent, and unapologetically emancipated female protagonist.

David Weber avoids the tired cliché of simply putting a woman in trousers and calling her strong. Alicia is capable, independent, ruthless when necessary, yet emotionally complex and deeply human.

Weber's real achievement is creating a future in which gender equality is so natural and believable that it requires no explanation. Alicia doesn't have to prove herself because she's a woman. She simply gets to be herself.

Excellent military science fiction with an outstanding protagonist. Highly recommended!

Loved the story, think it's one of David Weber's earlier works, the narrator does a good job, but the sound quality could be better, at higher volumes you notice it gets worse and is almost painful.

In the beginning it was hard to follow the difficult names of those characters. But keeping on listening was well worth it. An awesome story unfolded, with nice twists and interesting surprises.

There r so many inconsistencies in this story. The plot is fantasstyle in Sf, something that seldomly works well.
The emphasis on losing your army unit and not the death of your family is especially strange. The Fury as Deus ex machina does not help the story at all. And the weak, in comparison 2 HHverse, theoretical combat, well doesnt help either. Just go for the early Honor Harrington Books.
