Delilah frustrated me at times because it took her so long to realize she needed to leave her husband, and involving her friend put her in danger too. But I also understand how trapped someone can feel in an abusive relationship. The book was a reminder that if you’re helping someone in that situation, you need to think about your own safety as well. It’s heartbreaking that trying to help can make you a target.
