Stanley knits together reflections on history, philosophy, sociology, and critical race theory with stories from contemporary Hungary, Poland, India, Myanmar, and the United States, among other nations, making clear the immense dangers of language and beliefs that separate people into an “us” and a “them.” By uncovering disturbing patterns that are as prevalent today as ever, Stanley reveals that the stuff of politics—rhetoric and myth—can become policy and reality all too quickly. Dieses sehr klare und sehr verständliche Buch dekliniert den Faschismus in seinen Kerncharakteristiken. Sie sind sich unsicher, ob die heute aktiven rechten Parteien (AfD, PiS, Front National etc.) Faschisten sind? Sie möchten diese Ideologie schnell und einfach verstehen? Lesen und Klarheit bekommen. Der Faschismus ist stark wie nie. Hoffentlich überleben wir ihn...

It’s almost eerie how the author describes the development of fascism in the past and is on point about what is happening today.
I had to look up if this book has been written in recent months, but surprisingly it has been already available for a couple of years.
