I'm not all that special, really. I'm sure there are a lot of girls with old gypsy blood who see the dead, have killer cults hunting their family, and turn into something that gets scary when they panic. Yep. I'm just an ordinary girl. I wish people would believe that.

I've been labeled as one thing or another for most of my life: Death Girl. Crazy Gypsy Girl. Gothic Chick. Monster.

It took my mother's death for me to finally start getting answers about what's really been going on. Unfortunately, most of the answers come from men . . . who aren't just men. Somehow, I've gone and landed myself in a world truly filled with monsters, and I'm starting to think this is where I should have been all along.

Only . . . I don't understand what's going on. I'm walking into the middle of a story that's thousands of years old, and I'm the new girl on the block who doesn't have a clue how this world even works. My only guides happen to be the most lethal of the bunch.

I've gone and drawn attention to myself, and the ones paying attention are the ones everyone else seems to fear. How do these things always happen to me?

I'd give full stars for story, writing and the female narrator, but the male narrator really sucks! That makes half the chapters a torture...

Amandment:
After the third audio book I gave up. The male narrator pronounces everything so exaggeratingly as if reciting on stage, no matter what the situation. I can't concentrate on what he is saying, I literally fall asleep several times.
I have returned the complete series.

I almost didn’t try out the book because of its racist title, but gave it a try because I like the author. The issue with the slur is addressed in the first chapter and the book is not about sinti and Roma but “Gypsy” here is a fantasy category, such as witch etc. still, any other word could’ve been used…

The book has a bit of spice.
The female narrator is really good, the male one is not that good but it’s ok.

It's like your slightly drunk uncle making sock puppets and telling you a story with overacted voices.
There were other reviews mentioning this but I thought it was exaggerated. It is NOT. I was dumbfounded when the male narrator started speaking 21 minutes in.
The female narrator calling him 'sexy' with a 'grovely' voice actually made me cringe. I'm one hour in now and I'm not sure if I can continue.
I'm so happy this was an "included in my membership" thing. I would've regretted if I had spent a credit on that.

poor soft reverse Harem with one of the stupidiest and naive heroine i came across in a lo g time . Add an super annoying sidekick ghost and well , thats it for me . Wont listen to this series any further
