À propos de ce titre

Grayson Darling is suddenly the new Hollywood "it" guy and needs a break from stardom. As an American actor turned heartthrob, Gray rose to superstar status as a romantic lead on a popular streaming service—but it's getting harder to hide who he really is. To his legions of female fans, he's a straight man.

But it's all a made-for-TV lie.

Needing a holiday during the show's summer hiatus, Gray books a stay at a rural Ireland B&B, where he hopes the scenery and solitude will spark creativity to finish his first screenplay.

Gruff and steady Niall O'Reardon wonders if this is all life has to offer him now that he's retired from the Gaelic football league and has taken over his family farm in Ireland. A place where dreams get shoveled up along with the sheep muck. He has no illusions that he'll find the perfect love or start a family someday.

Until his new handsome American B&B guest shows up, messing with his ideas on what love is supposed to be, giving him hope that he can have it all and that perfect isn't just a fantasy.

But choices must be made, and the truth has consequences. And hearts and reputations are on the line and need to be protected.

Contains mature themes.

First chapter: we got told how bad the ex wife is. Even if the MC had only a relationship with her to hold up his straight appearance in the public. She didn’t know.

Than it’s one stereotypical thing after the other. Not funny.

Stereotypical

I enjoyed the book overall. It wasn’t amazing, but it was a decent and entertaining listen. What I really struggled with, though, was the Irish accent the narrator used. I understand that the story is set in Ireland, but as someone who isn’t Irish, I found the accent incredibly difficult to understand at times. There were parts where I could barely make out what was being said, which made it hard to fully enjoy the story.

Good story, but the accent made it hard to follow

Very refreshing story, likeable characters and excellent narration by both voice actors. Also there is an abundance of hilarious moments that make one laugh out loud. The only thing I would change is the title, I almost skipped this book because of it. (Also don’t expect too much spice. There is some, but it’s definitely not at the centre of the story.)

Absolutely hilarious
