À propos de ce titre

Scorio will rise from the ashes to conquer the 10 layers of hell.

Reborn without memories, Scorio learns that he is a Great Soul, a legendary defender of the ancient city of Bastion. That within the hallowed halls of the Academy and under the stern eyes of the underworld’s greatest instructors he will enjoy enormous privilege, rediscover unique and wondrous powers, and one day return to the millennium-old battle against their infernal foes.

Until he is betrayed. Singled out and sentenced to die for crimes he can't remember, Scorio is hurled to his doom - and forgotten.

But from even the dimmest spark an inferno may one day rage.

Clawing his way back from oblivion, Scorio vows to return to the Academy at any cost. To emerge from the ruins and within those golden walls defeat his elite classmates in a quest to ascend the ranks and change the course of history. For only then will he learn about his forgotten past and why his enemies have rightly feared him since the day he was reborn.

Durchgehend unterhaltsam

This series will forever be one I refer to as having some of the most well developed characters and world in the genre. the voice actor is fantastic too, he really brings the charaters to life. I just finished book 3 and can highly recommend.

Amazing series all around

I'm glad that I have found this gem of a book and can't wait for the next one! It has everything from what I have come to love about the progression fantasy genre and more. If you liked Cradle and the Iron Prince you will also enjoy this one. Nick Podehl does a phenomenal job of bringing the characters and the world to life. With a runtime of almost 40 hours it's a treat and I'm sad that I have already reached the end of the first book.

My only criticism is that the book would have benefitted from a slight trimming overall. I like big chunky books but similar to the Iron Prince it could have been streamlined a bit more. Nothing major though, the book overall is well edited and the story has a nice pace to it.

I especially enjoyed the characters, the interactions, the banter and their depth. They feel alive, real and complex. They are fun to be around and I look forward to seeing how they will develop and grow.

The story draws you in and has an epic scope. You also get a tremendous amount of content for just one book which is amazing.

Highly recommended progression Fantasy

Story was heavy and slow for 6 hours in the middle but the payof was worth it.

Almost dropped it halfway.
