Finn Harris should have been the one to die.

Finn wasn't sure what he expected to find when he logged in. But it certainly wasn't a manipulative fire god or a school for mages - where the students are pitted against each other in deadly duels and the faculty isn't shy about maiming or injuring novice mages to prove a point.

Now Finn must learn to fight, for his own life and a chance at redemption. He'll need to prove that his fire hasn't been snuffed out.

ill be honest with you. I've only picked up this series as it seems to get intertwined with the main awaken online story. it's ok, yet Jason seems to be a much cooler MC. if you love the main story I guess it's ok to pick this one up in between to know what's going on in the AO world.

Ich feier ja die Awaken Online Reihe, die Geschichte mit Jason fesselt mich immer wieder und auch diese Reihe hier hat einen Guten Start hingelegt und ich finde sie fügt sich in das Universum von Awaken Online Fabelhaft ein. Der Hauptcharakter Finn überzeugt und ich fühle richtig mit ihm mit, seine Geschichte ist spannend und auch sein Werdegang. Ich kann es kaum erwarten das er und Jason aufeinander treffen und wie es ausgeht. Den einen Stern muss ich aber abziehen, weil ich finde dass das Buch ein wenig in der Mitte in die Länge gezogen wird, auch ändert sich auch nicht das Umfeld in dem es spielt (quasi ein Gefängnis in der Spielwelt) ich denke aber das wird sich hundertprozentig ändern im nächsten Buch. Gibt mir meinetwegen aber noch Fünfzig Bücher über AO in dieser Qualität und ich werde sie mir hohlen.

First off, voice range of the Speaker feels shallow, literally the only weak point of the audiobook. Story is sticking to the base components of vmorpgs, but Story is kept believable and stringent. Nice foreshadowing at the end there...

Während das Konzept spannend ist, ist der MC so flach wie keine andere Mary Sue. Das ganze Buch fühlt sich wie eine männliche Fantasie Schleife. Der super intelligente, total rationale MC der ausgewählt wird und mit einer besonderen Macht beschenkt wird. Danach meistert er jede Challenge durch seine immense cleverness und ist dabei noch super cool und mysteriös. Das liest sich alles wie eine FanFic die ein 14 Jähriger Junge geschrieben hat… kann ich nicht empfehlen.
