The problem is Asha might not be a beauty, but her sister Dinah is. When Asha realizes Dinah is in danger of being selected as the king’s sacrificial bride, Asha decides she can’t live with that risk. So she offers herself instead.

Except on the night of their wedding the king grants Asha a final request. Naturally, she asks to tell her sister one last bedtime story. Naturally, the king eavesdrops.

I thought the reader for the King wasn't as good as rhe rest. not bad but just not as good.

loved the plot. one of the first books I reread in a very long time. I enjoyed Ashas personality quite a lot.

I thought I could get over it that the female narrator was breathing loudly after every sentence, it was disturbing but except that it was a good narration. The story was thrilling, the first couple chapters were slow but it built up and got exciting.

I wished the breathing wouldn’t bother me and I get used to it but it didn’t and after I listening to the next book, I decided not to buy it because that narrator was breathing loudly too.

Ich habe ein bisschen gebraucht, bis ich in die Geschichte getaucht bin.Doch es hat sich wirklich gelohnt. Die Geschichte hat mich nicht mehr losgelassen. Der unerwartete Twist am Ende war grandios.
Die Sprecherin atmet etwas zu stark. Aber nach einer kurzen Zeit störte mich das nicht mehr.
Es ist eine ganz klare Hörempfehlung.

Very slow story. Nice plot twist in the end. But too much overthinking of the fmm gets annoying. In the end it was hard to finish the book and not just stop after half of it
