In these short stories, Penelope Lively creates vivid glimpses into the lives of a variety of people – mainly women – over the past 100 years or so. I truly enjoyed her writing style, surprising, and sometimes funny, turns in the stories, and her ability to lead the reader/listener deep into her characters' minds. The audiobook was also well narrated, and I can very much recommend it.
