Thione Aldermann, a third generation homesteader in the Columbia Valley, now the first interplanetary traveler, is completely out of her depth as she and Guest hurtle through the cosmos toward his homeworld. She doesn’t know what she’s doing, she can’t speak the language, and even worse, no one feels like telling her why she’s there. One thing’s for sure; she’s not along for the ride.
On Guest’s homeworld, the prosperous home city, rich with fruits and warm sunshine hides a darker reality; Guest’s people are in the middle of a planet-wide extinction event after an intense, prolonged meteor shower. Despite decades of research and effort, scientists haven’t turned the tide in a battle against the encroaching cold and violent weather. The entire fate of Guest’s species rests in Thione’s hands. All she has to do is risk everything to save them.
Jeanie Talbot brings Another Guest to life with her warm, animated voice. Perfectly reflecting the emotion and the action on the page, her narration elevates the text from clever prose to beautiful theatre.
