How do I redeem a gift?
Redeem via E-Mail
- Select the Redeem Gift option in your gift e-mail.
- Select Redeem on the Audible website.
- Sign in with your Amazon credentials or create a new account.
Redeem with redemption code
If the Redeem Gift link in your e-mail does not work, you can use the redemption code on our gift redemption page.
- Copy the redemption code from your gift e-mail.
- Visit our Pick Up Gift page.
- Enter your redemption code.
- Select Redeem Now.
- Sign in with your Amazon credentials or create a new account.
Can I redeem a gift subscription if I am already a subscriber?
Yes. Instead of an additional gift subscription, you will receive all the credits you would have received during the gift subscription period all at once. The gift subscription you redeem neither replaces your current subscription nor extends your existing subscription. If you have a paid monthly or annual subscription, you will still be charged the amount on your next billing date.
Why can't I redeem my gift subscription?
Redemption codes for gift subscriptions are case-sensitive. So make sure you enter the code exactly as it appears in the designated field. If you continue to have problems redeeming your gift, please contact our customer service who will be happy to help you.
What happens if I redeem a gifted title that I already own?
Instead of receiving a title you already own, the person who purchased the gift will receive a refund for the gift purchase, depending on how the gift was purchased:
- If the gift was purchased with a credit, the buyer will receive a credit back.
- If the gift was purchased with money, the buyer will receive a refund of the amount to the payment method used at the time of purchase.
Why can't I redeem my gift?
There are a number of reasons why you may be having trouble redeeming your gift and there are some troubleshooting steps that can help you.
- You may have already redeemed the gift.
- You have already redeemed your gift and are trying to redeem a recommendation that is only available for purchase.
- You need to add a billing address to confirm that your gift title is available at your location if you are new to Audible or do not have an Amazon account.
Try refreshing your browser or your library
After you have redeemed your recommendation, it will appear in your library in the app and on the Audible website. Please refresh your browser or your app library to see if your title is there. Your newest title should appear at the top.
Check if the title is a recommendation
The first accepted gift title is free, regardless of subscription status. You will continue to receive recommendations from us and it is up to you whether you would like to purchase them.
- If you have a subscription, you can purchase the recommended title with a credit (if available) or at the member price.
- If you do not have a subscription and are eligible for an Audible trial, you can redeem your second recommendation as part of the free title you receive with your Audible trial.
- If you do not have a subscription and are not eligible for a trial, you can purchase the title at your discretion at the regular sale price.
If you have not previously redeemed a title, the title may not be available at your location due to geographic rights for that title. Learn more about geographical restrictions. For all other issues related to redeeming your first recommendation, please contact our customer service.
Add a billing address
While your first redeemed title is free, we do require a payment method and a billing address to determine whether the title you received is available at your location. When publishers decide to publish a work, they acquire the rights to distribute that particular title in certain regions of the world. The rights to a title are often split among multiple companies, each of which publishes for different countries.
Without an address on your account, we cannot determine whether Audible holds the rights to that title in your country.
To add a billing address, try redeeming the title you received in your account and enter your address in the designated fields. After you have entered this information, select Continue to complete the redemption.
